POLO NANOMAT, a new center dedicated to technological innovation and research into advanced materials, will be inaugurated on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the “Il Granaio” shopping center in Gualdo Tadino.
POLO NANOMAT was created as part of Spoke 9 of the PNRR project “Vitality – Ecosystem of Innovation, Digitalization and Sustainability,” coordinated by the University of Perugia in collaboration with the University of Camerino and the CNR (National Research Council).
The goal of the project is to create a true innovation ecosystem. A place where scientific research and manufacturing collaborate synergistically to develop new technological applications, foster the creation of start-ups and spin-offs, and support the economic and cultural growth of the region. The facility will house advanced laboratories for the characterization and development of new materials and will be gradually expanded to accommodate companies interested in taking advantage of the scientific and technological services offered by the center.
The day’s program includes:
• 11:30 AM – Institutional greetings and presentation of the NANOMAT POLO at the Don Bosco Cinema Theater
• 12:30 PM – Ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour of the NANOMAT POLO laboratories at the Granaio Shopping Center on Via Flaminia.
The new hub is part of a broader strategy to revitalize and develop the Umbrian Apennine region, focusing on innovation as a lever to attract investment and enhance local expertise. The event will be an opportunity to learn more about the hub’s activities and meet the project’s key players.
All interested parties are invited to attend.
