L. Gammaitoni, S. Lombardi and I. Neri participated to the LANDAUER kick-off meeting, held in Lisbon at the Technical University.
LANDAUER (www.landauer-project.eu) is a EC (FET Proactive, VII FP) founded project, coordinated by NiPS, whose scientific objective is to test the fundamental limits in energy dissipation during the operation of physical switches representing the basic elements of logic gates and whose technological objective is to introduce new conceptual devices that, through novel computing paradigms with radically improved efficiency, are capable of trading the minimum amount of energy dissipated with the computational precision.
